Our Dry Ridge, Kentucky plant operates three shifts and produces products for light vehicle applications.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is responsible for a variety of assembly functions in preparing automotive drive-train components and any related processes including painting, welding, material handling, problem-solving and training. The assembly technician must support our 100% on time delivery goal; our 100% quality rating goal and our production standards.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To troubleshoot machine malfunctions to include electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems. After determining cause of malfunction, document findings in concise, readable terms utilizing windows based CMMS (computer maintenance management system) computer program.
To be proficient in the use of PLC (programmable logic controllers). This includes troubleshooting, programming and documentation of PLC control programs. Proficiency required with Modicon, Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLC's.
To be proficient with the use of robotics. This includes troubleshooting, teaching and programming of robotic programs. Proficiency required with FANUC and ABB Systems.
Must be able to interpret electrical schematics and troubleshoot wiring circuits
Capable of troubleshooting hard wired relay logic machine control panels. This includes field repairs, i.e., replacing existing components and wiring.
To have a working knowledge and experience with 24, 115, 277 and 480 Volt 3 phase electrical systems. This would include electrical distribution systems consisting of buss and switch gear equipment.
Ability to install additional conduit, both flex and hard, to existing equipment and building systems. This would include the correct bending of hard conduit and pulling of wire through the conduit.
Ability to remove, repair and install pneumatic and hydraulic components to include valves, cylinders, pumps, hoists and motors.
EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of a 2 year degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or Engineering Technology PLUS 2 years of verifiable work.
In lieu of formal education- a minimum of 5 years of verifiable work plus training seminars in the above defined categories will be considered
Knowledge and experience in the use of wire and stick welders, plus cutting torches.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Must have good communication skills and the ability to be a good leader. This would include directing the efforts of Maintenance technicians reporting to this position for daily work assignments and training.
Must be able to rig, move and install equipment within the facility. This would include the capability to lift heavy objects weighing up to 75 lbs.
Must be able to operate forklifts-up to 30 ton capacity.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Implement quality systems with special emphasis on maintaining TS16949 & ISO 14001 certifications. Monitor and maintain QS/TS/Quality Operating System requirements
Coordinate supplier quality management metrics including but not limited to preventative and corrective actions & PPAPs for current and new customer programs
Support Advanced Product Quality Process (APQP/PPAP)
Track and maintain quality related metrics for reporting both to external & internal customers
Serve as liaison between local Plant and external Quality system auditing body
Manage and coordinate tasks of Quality Technicians and Quality Engineers
Responsible for coordinating investigations and responses to customer complaints
Manage Customer Quality Rejects and Returned Material and 8D Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions
Maintain internal documents system for corrective actions
Report quality systems results and metrics
Maintain Ford, DCX and other Customer Assessments
Oversee process capability studies and quality audits
IATF auditor training
Support Scrap / rework reduction investigations
Support problem solving via phone as necessary during off shifts and weekends
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Manufacturing Technology preferred and 5 or more years related experience
ASQ or equivalent Quality Certifications is a plus
Quality System tools experience preferred, i.e. DOE, FMEA, PPAP, GR&R, QFD, SPC, CPK, QS/ISO/TS. CMM and related Metrology skills
Working knowledge of plant processes and systems
Technical knowledge of product and quality techniques
Solution oriented with the ability to investigate and analyze data for problem solving
Project Management skills and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Basic mechanical aptitude with strong attention to detail focus
Understanding of Lean Principles
Thorough understanding of process engineering principles
Statistical training
Computer proficiency in a Windows environment utilizing Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes

RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures all maintenance activities in a facility are appropriately carried out
Maintaining and upholding the safety, quality, and standards of an organization
Keeping a record of all maintenance and service activities conducted and maintaining a cycle of the same
Responsible for the training of maintenance staff and evaluating their performances
Interacting with other departments to ensure the proper functioning of all systems in a facility
Complying with all safety norms and regulations set by the industry
Filing purchase orders and other documentations for the procurement of spare and replacement parts
Provide leadership to skilled trades and maintenance group resulting in better machine uptime and extended machine life
Establish Priorities with Manufacturing Leadership, communicate to skilled trades and maintenance group and assign tasks accordingly
Troubleshoot and problem solve equipment downtime situations. Quickly and logically determine and resolve root problems
Mentor others to use data and the scientific approach to problem solving
Create an environment that continuously measures and improves equipment uptime
Manage maintenance work orders including: priority, assignment, estimated time to complete, actual time to complete
Ensure the skilled trades and maintenance group have the necessary tools and training required to support manufacturing
Effectively administer both the skilled trades and maintenance group including OT management, ADP management, etc.
Establish, Track and Communicate skilled trades and maintenance group performance trends
Will be required to work across multiple shifts and/or weekends as determined by Maintenance Manager
EDUCATION REQUIRED/PREFERRED
Associates Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar technological degree
with 3+ years of experience preferred
Previous experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing environment , union experience preferred
Background in preventative maintenance / familiarity with CMMS systems preferred
Proven ability to solve problems in a logical fashion that identifies and resolves true root cause
Knowledge of automation and assembly processes, including understanding of PLC's
Ability to influence, escalate issues and ideas, and persuade team and positively manage conflict
New product launch experience preferred
Proven leadership abilities
Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated people management abilities and ability to work in a team environment
Strong organizational skills
Good computer skills
